what is cpu on a computer
Can sum1 explain to me how & which CPU computer speeds are slow & fast?
Reading or understanding what the cpu speed on a computer is confusing. I dunno how to tell or compere it if it’s fast or slow to other computers. My desktop home computer AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+201 GHz, 992mb of RAM, and it’s pretty fast. The specs. for my computer sound confusing compared to other computer models. Is there a chart that explain all that?

201 GHz? Do you mean 2.01 GHz? My computer is 2.01 GHz and I’m very happy with it. It’s a good processor speed. Did you get this info by going Start > right-clicking My Computer? You have about 1GB of RAM. These days, 2GB of RAM is better. That could speed things up for you if you multitask or run big programs.
I don’t really understand your question, but if you’re going computer shopping, the manufacturer should tell you the processor speed in GHz and the RAM. I would use those to determine. FYI, the processor is the brain that does all the work. The RAM is like the room where all your tasks happen. More space in the room means it can handle more tasks at once.
