front panel usb header connections?
I am upgrading the PC with a new Asus Motherboard and want to connect the front USB sockets. They currently have a 9 pin multiplug (one corner blanked off) and looks like it will just plug on to the usb headers but I’m not sure if the wires will be in the right order. The case is around 9 years old and is a compaq presario. I am unable to determine the connections on the front panel. Are these thing wired up to all be the same? Thanks.
Even at that age the case front panel connectors should be wired to convention. As long as the case houses current motherboards (for example ATX or uATX) the plug will be wired correctly for direct connection.
