motherboard power switch polarity

Computer failing to start?
I plugged the POWER SW Cable into my motherboard and it has failed to start. When i push the power button, literally nothing happens. No clicks or beeps indicating a hardware malfunction. Im stumped as to what it could be. I’ve tried switching polarities, Tried every slot and yet nothing. The green light on the motherboard is up and im assuming that power supply isnt the problem. I’ve also made sure all the cables are plugged ect. Any help would be more then appreciated.
Try switching directly on motherboard by briefly shorting PWR SW pins on mobo with a small screwdriver. If cpu fan does not even wiggle a bit, mobo is dead. If cpu fan wiggles briefly then stops, mobo could be shorted to PC case.
Also try resetting CMOS. With PC unplugged, reset using the CMOS jumper pin switch on motherboard OR simply by removing CMOS battery on motherboard for at least 30 sec. Then power ON PC. After PC beeps once, press Del or F2 to open BIOS menu. Load fail-safe defaults, save and exit. PC should start normally.
