Do I need motherboard and how much it costs, where can I get it?
Got zapped by lightning. C, D hard drives, DVDRW & DVDROM drives are okey. Can still do word processing, spreadsheets, etc. and save them to C drive. But I lost the use of 5 removable drives and 6 USB ports. I Couldn’t print, surf internet, read photo memory cards, scan, etc. Do I need a new motherboard? If so, where can I get it and how much does it cost?
Sounds like the MB is OK.
I would start by checking the BIOS, and maybe resetting it to default values. It may be that some of the settings were altered by the “incident”.
Next I would go to the device manager, and if any of the devices are in conflict, uninstalling them, then re-installing them, and let Windows detect them again. This may remove the conflicts, if any.
