What is the best CPU AMD or Intel D?
What is the best CPU, considering it’s performance & price. Either AMD Athlon 64 3500+ or the Intel Pentium D 3200Mhz
Is Pentium D based on 32bit architecture ???
The Pentium D is indeed 32-bit/64-bit hybrid that can run in either mode like the Athlon, no question about that.
Of the two you have listed, the Athlon 64 will win in a majority of benchmarks, though by a slim margin in most cases. Gaming is really where the Athlon will take the lead. You can size it up yourself here:

Realize that there are two versions of each processor you listed above, so knowing the exact model could make a difference. Overall though, I typically advise users to stay away from the Pentium D. They suck a lot of power and get very hot (causing other components to run at higher than normal temperatures, such as your hard drive).
Instead, consider a Core 2 Duo from Intel. Currently, these are the best on the market beating even the Athlon X2 easily in just about all benchmarks. Best of all, they run at half the power of the Pentium D and a heck of a lot cooler.
