Can not boot from the Ubuntu CD?
I downloaded the Ubuntu 7.10 ISO file and burned onto a CD-RW with Disk Utility in Mac OS X. I have tried the CD on another computer and it works great, but my Toshiba Protege 7220CTe not start it. Then I tried with a DVD-R with the same result. I started to boot from the CD before the hard disk but not even play the CD. I ordered Ubuntu CDs for free, but have been burned too fast and can not be read by anyone any of my computers. I can not burn iso wrong? Or maybe just not my laptop read CD-RW? It has a combo drive CD-R/DVD-R. If not, resolve the problem if you bought some CD-R and burned with them? Or should I buy a CD of Ubuntu? Yes, the equipment is compatible. I checked before ordering the CD. I ordered the CD will start setup, but are unable to read more. I just want to know if maybe I'm burning the iso wrong because the laptop does not boot from the CD I made.
Have you checked the compatibility of this distribution to see if it is compatible with your hardware? It can not and lock into place because some in your laptop is to prevent the load. Try a distribution different.
