hdd smart status
What if you do not have the ability to disable SMART in the BIOS?
I have a 120gig portable hard drive that I be able to install OSX, but do not leave me, as the SMART status indicator is activated .. how to reset? Western Digital's disk!
SMART function is to let you know that the reader is an error or has failed. You are supposed to give a warning before a complete failure. However, why you want to disable this feature? If you shoot, there is a problem. I recommend you to run diagnostic tools from Western Digital (CD) to see if there is a problem with the unit.
