Intel Core 2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86Ghz Upgrade Possibilities?
I’m thinking of upgrading my processor from the CPU above. However I know that I can’t just bang another processor in due to motherboard compatibilities.
I just want to know what kind of upgrade possibilities I can have.

You’ll find that you can use any Core 2 Duo processer, but not a Core 2 Quad. The motherboard lacks enough voltage regulator circuits to handle a quad. Basically, if you don’t order a system from Dell with a quad core in it, you can’t upgrade to one.
Disregard what the first guy said, just because Core 2 Duo’s and Core 2 Quad’s use the same socket (LGA 775) DOES NOT mean that both are compatible with any socket 775 motherboard.
