"I can put only my CPU without reinstalling Windows?

I want to upgrade just my CPU (motherboard leaving Updated) than from Socket 775 Pentium D Core 2 Duo E6700 LGA775 socket that is compatible with my motherboard, is this possible without having to reinstall Windows?, If so, what steps should be do to make this possible? To get a reference to my current system configuration is: Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 (rev. 1.0) Map mother, Windows Vista Ultimate 64-Bit Edition 4 GB of RAM Pentium D dual-core 64-bit CPU GPU Geforce 8800GT 400 GB SATA Hard Drive

YES! You can change the processor without additional RAM more reinstall Windows. Make sure you get the new processor line with the specifications of the motherboard (I mean FSB, CPU socket and other things). To do this, simply to open the computer case and locate the CPU heat sink and remove it as shown here: http://www.waterwheel.com/Guides/how_to/cpu/CPU.htm then remove the old processor, as shown here: http://www.waterwheel.com/Guides/how_to / cpu / CPU.htm and insert the new one, then apply a little grease heat, replace the heat sink and that's all. Enjoy.
