cpu does not turn on

When I turn on my cpu tower nothing comes up on my monitor…?
Lately, whenever I turn on my cpu tower, I can hear through my speakers that Windows starts up but my monitor goes into sleepmode.
I read in other questions that it may be the wires connecting the monitor and tower but mine are fine.
Anybody have any suggestions of what might be going on?
If you were able to see your display in the monitor during the boot up process and then disappearing once the windows starts up, then its sure that you tried to change the screen resolution or frequency rate to some format which your monitor don’t support. Now you have boot your computer in safe mode and change the settings.
Keep pressing F8 when you switch on your computer, you will see a option called safe mode. Boot to windows through that. Goto display properties -> settings and click apply after setting it to 800 X 600. Now restart the machine.
Whenever you change the resolution or refresh rate and nothing appears on your monitor wait for 15 seconds or press escape. Don’t press enter, this will prevent you from getting into similar problem in future.
